Gender represents one\u2019s personal, internal sense of gender (either the existence of or lack of a gender). This can be informed by one\u2019s social context. Gender is something we have <\/em>and something we do<\/em>. Each person\u2019s experience of gender is unique to them, and is completely valid to their experience. Some examples of gender can include cisgender, transgender, non-binary, man, woman, gender-fluid, etc.<\/p>\n\n

Gender Expression refers to the ways that someone expresses or presents themselves<\/strong> through behaviour, mannerisms, clothing, and appearance. Typically, these are associated with a particular gender (informed by social context).
